By downloading or using Pocket Globe, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
About the Service
Pocket Globe is a travel planning app that helps Indian travellers discover destinations within their budget and plan trips. The app provides:
- Budget-based destination discovery
- Trip itinerary planning tools
- Information about hotels, restaurants, and attractions
- Travel safety features including SOS alerts
User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining your account security
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the app
- One person may not create multiple accounts to abuse our service
What We Provide & Don't Provide
Pocket Globe functions solely as an interactive, budget-first travel planning guide. We do not provide bookings, travel hosting, or emergency response services.
✅ We provide:
- Interactive budget estimation tools and destination discovery
- Estimated cost breakdowns for hotels, dhabas, transport, and entry fees
- Curated planning itineraries based on historical on-ground research
- A custom SOS button that sends pre-defined SMS coordinates to your contacts
❌ We do NOT provide:
- Direct booking services (we do not sell tickets, reserve rooms, or act as an agent)
- Real-time pricing guarantees or inventory availability
- Active monitoring or dispatching of emergency services
SOS Safety Feature: Important Notice
The SOS feature is a supplementary convenience utility. It attempts to transmit SMS messages and current GPS coordinates only to the trusted personal contacts you save in the app.
Not a Direct Emergency Line: This feature is NOT connected to state police, ambulance, medical, or government emergency services. In a real emergency, always dial 112 or 100 directly.
Transmission Dependability: SOS SMS delivery relies entirely on third-party mobile network operators, active cellular signal strength, device GPS accuracy, and your carrier's balance. Pocket Globe does not guarantee SMS transmission, receipt, or response.
Liability Release: Pocket Globe and its operators accept no responsibility or liability for any SMS transmission failure, delay, or the safety outcomes of your travel.
Accuracy of Information & Estimates
- Research Estimates: Travel costs, restaurant menus, transport fares, and hotel pricing shown are historical estimates compiled from localized on-ground research. They do not constitute binding quotes.
- External Variance: Real-world rates fluctuate due to seasonality, holidays, inflation, and local vendor terms. Always verify details directly with service providers before making travel plans.
- No Warranty: Pocket Globe does not guarantee that details, operating hours, safety conditions, or routes of listed destinations are accurate, complete, or current.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Share false information about places
- Attempt to hack, scrape, or reverse engineer the app
- Use the app to harass or harm others
Intellectual Property
- Pocket Globe and its logo are our trademarks
- App content and design are our intellectual property
- Place information comes from Google Maps Platform and is subject to Google's terms
- User-generated content (your trips) remains yours
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- We are not liable for any travel decisions you make based on app information
- We are not liable for losses arising from app downtime
- Our total liability is limited to INR 1,000
Changes to the App
We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will try to give notice for significant changes.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Disputes will be resolved in courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
